This is a door of church I pass on my walks in the morning. I trek 5 blocks from the bus stop on 21st. It’s been nice to get in a morning exercise and some alone time. I listen to music and think about the week ahead or the week past. I do a lot of my thinking on these walks. It’s been good for me, I think.
Anyway, isn’t this a pretty door?

It was cloudy and cold all day. The sun did not make an appearance at all. So, I am posting a picture of me with the sun warming my back at Warner Park a few weeks ago. DH and I played hookie on a Wednesday (I know, so random) and had a picnic at the park. It was a beautiful day and spending time alone with your spouse is always a good thing.

Snooze.
Need I say more.

Ok, so this picture is not dinner. We ate rotisserie chicken and green salad. To be honest, I was so hungry after going to the gym that I devoured my meal before I even thought about taking a picture. Fail. So, I am posting a picture of a box of chocolates that sweet cousin Nora sent all the way from Germany. The chocolates are all but a memory now (she sent them in December), but they were so Yummy that my mouth waters as I look at this picture. Thank you, Nora!

DH and I saw this fella on the way home last Friday. He/she wasn’t doing much. I imagine it was a long day out there in that bulky outfit. I was kinda wishing he would bust a move out there 🙂

Work. Work. Work.
I set my desktop background to a pretty island scene much like home in Samoa. It makes me happy and sad all at once.

In less than 12 hours, I will be a year older. And hopefully wiser. It has been a tough year for me, but I have my health and lots of love in my life. God is so good to me.

2011 has been a rollercoaster of a ride for our family here.  It’s been sorta rough.  I haven’t been blogging much because of it all.  I’m glad to say though that the storm is calmer now that the year is coming to a close.  I’m hoping 2012 will be better.  More joy, more goodness, more celebrations, more love…..

I can’t quite share all that has happened but I will say that every family has their share of trouble and that it always, ALWAYS works out in the end.  I have faith that this new year will be a year of great things in all of our lives. I must have faith in that.

2011 was not all bad.  Tyler is in his last year of high school and his football team earned the district champion title by going undefeated all season.  A major accomplishment for the school.  They went all the way to the last round of playoffs.  We are so proud of Tyler and his team for that.

Bubba and Nate also had good football seasons.  Neither of the teams made it to Championship but both of my boys had awesome personal accomplishments playing the game.  I’m so proud of them both.

Lai is in Kindergarten this year.  She loves school and is doing extremely well in school.  I didn’t doubt that she would.  She’s growing up so fast.

Yesterday was my 2 year anniversary at my current job.  I can’t believe how fast time is flying by.  I have enjoyed working there and have grown to really love my coworkers.

DH is now on 1st shift.  After 10 years working the night shift, it is definitely an adjustment to say the least.  I do love having him home with us at night, as do the kids.  He picks me up everyday after work and we drive home together talking or just listening to music.  It is good for us to have that alone time together.  It’s like unwinding before getting home to prepare dinner, do homework, hang out with the kids, and getting ready for bed.

Here are some pics from 2011:

2012….. Here we go…..

From our house to yours….

It’s been a while since I dabbled in crochet.  A couple of weeks ago, my coworker Lori B asked me if I could make something for her.  She bought the pattern and off I went.  I youtubed a couple of the stitches I was unfamiliar with but I think it turned out pretty well.  See for your self.

It’s Perry the Platypus from the show “Phineas and Ferb” on Nickelodeon.  It’s totally awesome and worked up quick.  It took me about 2 days total.  Not too bad, if I say so myself 🙂

I took Tyler and Leigh-Ellen for an informal Senior portrait photo shoot at the dam.  It was really cold (40’s) so it was a quick shoot.  It was also the same day as the MJ high school football banquet so we had to rush. Even with all those elements I think we came out with some great shots.

Here are a few of the pictures I took.  These are straight out of the camera.

And I also took some of them together.

And of course, my favorites, the silly….

I have some more great shots of these two. These are just some of my favorites.
