Today my oldest son, my baby, turns 18.  I am going through a roller coaster ride of emotions today.  Mostly though I am sad.  Sad that he is grown up, sad that he will be leaving for college soon, sad that my baby is no longer my baby.  I was feeling so sentimental typing up a post for facebook today.  I got teary-eyed and my heart came up my throat when I got to thinking about my little boy.  18 years?  Where has the time gone?  I remember him as a baby, with his funny cry and his big brown eyes.  I remember his first words “Burger King”.  I remember his first steps in Daly City, he was 2 weeks away from his first birthday and he just got up and ran!  I remember potty training, and the one thing that worked for him (he pee’d in his bed and did not like the feeling of being wet, so he didn’t do it again).  I remember his animosity for dirt, mud, wetness, and stickiness.  This boy was not your typical little boy.  He hated being dirty.  If he got something on his hands for feet, he would have a meltdown.  “Mommy! Mommy!” giving me his hand or offending appendage that had something undesirable on it.  “Get it off!”  Haha.  He was a character.  He memorized his bible verses astonishingly quick and was talking very well for a boy so little.  He is a nerd.  Just like his mama.  Eighteen years.

I feel honored to have such a great kid.  People tell me how great of a job we did as parents in raising him.  To be honest, I don’t like taking all the credit for that.  Tyler is a little bit of me and a little bit of his daddy, but mostly he is what God made him.  A perfect mix of a person to be our oldest son.  I give God all that credit.

Tonight we will be surprising him with a little get together at Dave and Busters.  I will try to post pics of that later.  We bought him a fancy watch and will be loving on him extra today.

Happy Birthday, Tylerbug! I love you to the moon and back.

Today, our Bubba turns 11.

Happy Birthday Gabriel!  Mommy loves you so much.

I hope all is well on your end 🙂

Lai is FIVE!!!!

Happy Birthday, my sweel angel.  You have been such a blessing to us.  Especially me.  I thank God for you everyday.

Mem and the girls drove up Friday to celebrate with us.  This was taken when they were leaving yesterday.

Being silly.

The beautiful Kita.

This was her awesome cake that Daddy ordered.  Isn’t it cool?

She loved her cake.  Thank you Daddy!

We had her party at Two Rivers Park on Saturday.  It was a beautiful sunny day, windy and 60 degrees. Perfect for some outside play.

Jessi and the birthday girl.

Daddy and his little princess

Kim came!

Kita and Ty.

Ty and Aunty Mem.

It was a wonderful weekend.

We wish you were here.

Friday, New Year’s Eve, was my mom’s birthday.  I made dinner for her (beef stew, and shrimp alfredo).  We also had cake before heading to the bowling alley for the New Year’s party.

Having a birthday on the last day of the year is like ending it with a bang!  Everyone’s celebrating along with you and there are ALWAYS fireworks!    My mom has been my rock all my life and I thank God for every birthday I get with her.

Happy Birthday Mom!

A year ago yesterday, my nephew was born.  He lived 16 days.  Sixteen days of hope for all of us.  He was at least 14 weeks premature and a tiny little wonder.  He was strong though and was progressing well, but God had other plans for him.  He was allowed a short visit with us, and we are thankful for that.

I am still sad though.  I never got to hold him.  He’ll forever be that tiny little baby with a big voice and a strong will.

My little family and I went to visit his grave yesterday.  We left him presents and a letter.  We even sang Happy Birthday.  Needless to say,  I cried plenty.  It breaks my heart.

For those of you who know me well, know that my sister and I have not spoken in months.  It is not because of anything that has to do with the baby, I am having a hard time with her situation.  It’s long and in-depth and I will not go further.  But I will say that I wanted to call her yesterday.  I wanted to tell her that she’s going to be fine.  I KNOW she was sad yesterday.  Yesterday, especially.  I can’t imagine the pain she’s living with.

Anyway, we spent the whole day yesterday as a family to celebrate in our own way, little Baby Kit’s birthday.  It was a good day.

This is the whole gang on our way to the lake after visiting Baby Kit.  That’s Kaemon with us.

The kids fed the ducks and skipped rocks.

Then we took some pictures at the dam.

I really enjoy our family time.  Precious moments that last.

Have a great week!

We celebrated DH’s birthday on Monday with cake and a special dinner made by Shana.  I even took cupcakes to football practice for the kids to have.  Here are some pics:

It was nice.

Today my man is a year older.

Happy Birthday to my best friend, my partner for life.

Here’s to many more birthdays, honey.  I love you.

My little brother and I are big Zooey Deschanel fans.  She played opposite Will Ferell in one of my favorite Christmas movies – “Elf”, and played the love interest of Jim Carey’s in “Yes Man”, and more recently the title character in “500 days of Summer”.  If you haven’t seen any of these films, I highly recommend them.  Especially the last one.

I found this video today and wanted to post it for my brother.  It’s our girl Zooey and a guy named Gordon….

Our Nacho is six today.  He’ll be starting the 1st grade this year.  He’s no longer a toddler and has  lost most of his baby fat but he is still the most entertaining little guy in the family.  I love me some Nate.

Happy Birthday Nate!

Mommy loves you soooooo much.

Today Gabriel turns 10.  It’s a big deal.  He is officially in the double digits.  And there’s no turning back.  I got a little emotional about that today.  He’s getting farther and farther away from being my baby.  But that’s life, isn’t it?  We adults have been there.  We looked forward to getting older and reaching certain milestones toward what we saw as freedom.  Gosh, if we only knew..

But I digress.  Today my biggest baby at birth (8 lbs. 15 oz!)  is enjoying his day.  He spent some time with his Grandma and Grandpa.  They took him shopping (oh boy).  Then he went to watch The L*st Airbender with his dad.  I was at work.

I’m making him a special dinner.  His favorite, Chicken Alfredo.  I also bought him a fudge cake and vanilla ice cream.  He’s a happy boy.

So, here’s to Bubba being 10!

May this year be better than the last.

I love you.

It’s Saturday, a week after Tyler’s birthday, and I’m finally posting all the pics I took.

Friday  night, I took Ty to his cousin Katelyn’s Sweet 16 party.  Her and 13 friends, including Ty went to Laser tag at this cool place downtown.  They played 2 rounds and ate pizza.  From there, we all carpooled back to Kate’s house for cake and a bonfire.  Ty was a real sport being a total stranger to everyone but the birthday girl.  By the end of the night, he looked like he’d been friends with everyone for-like-ever =)  He’s not shy.  It was a great birthday party.  Ty and I got home at 2:30 Saturday morning.

We slept in til 9 and got ready for his celebration.  We picked up Brennan and Dee (kids and all) and headed to Koi where we ate Chinese buffet and all-you-can-eat sushi.  Mom and Gords met us there.  We sang Happy Birthday to Ty and presented him his cake:

Ty, Dee and Brennan.  Three happy, full teenagers.

We then headed to the hotel to check in.  The boys relaxed in the room and even went for a swim.

Around 7 pm Danny took Ty, Dee, and Brennan to the mall to play at Dave and Buster’s.  I stayed at the hotel with Bubbs, Nate, and Lai to wait for Gords to take them home.  He dropped me off at the mall to meet up with the guys.  When I arrived they were playing pool waiting for a lane to open up for some bowling.  Presley showed up (he got off at 7:00 from his job at McDees).

They had a blast.

After 3 games, we went back to the hotel for the night.  I know they didn’t get any sleep, like any typical teenage sleepover.  Danny and I had a room directly beneath them to keep an eye on things.

I got up at 7:30 for breakfast (the hotel had a full spread for breakfast that day).  We woke them up(they looked like they just went to bed).  They ate their all-you-can-eat eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, and fruit half-asleep.  They were exhausted from all the fun they had.

It was the best 16th birthday party I’ve ever been to!  Yes, it even topped mine.   😉

Ty was so grateful.  We just thank God that we were able to splurge on him.  It was awesome to spoil him for one day….

Next one’s in 6 years.  It’ll be here before you know it.  Ay, dios mio, the days fly by….

Tyler turned 16 (SIXTEEN!!!) this past Saturday.

I can’t believe how fast time flies.

It’s a bittersweet milestone.  Two more years and he’s off on his own.  I know it’s the right of passage for everyone, but as a mom, it is heartbreaking.

Danny and I threw him a big celebration with swimming, buffet lunch, bowling, pool (billiards), and a night in a nice hotel.  He’s so worth it.

I don’t know how I got blessed with such a good kid.  I know I don’t deserve it.  He’s been a great son overall.  No real drama at school, with girls, or at home.  He’s eager to please, especially towards his Dad.  His Dad’s opinion is golden in his eyes.  I love that about him.  He’s got a great sense of humor, and like his dad and uncles a GREAT laugh.  You can’t help but laugh with him.  He’s adorable inside as well as out.  Always has been.  Everyone loves my Tylerbug.  Danny and I can’t be any prouder.

We love you, son.  Happy Birthday.

Whew.  It’s been a busy week.  Fun and hectic.

This past weekend I went to knit with my poly sisters, watched a movie with the kiddos, went to the outlet to shop, went to watch THREE flag football games.  I’ll post about that later.

This post is to show you the pictures I’ve had in the queue since Lai’s birthday.  This was the weekend Aunty Mem and the girls were visiting from S. Carolina.  The weekend before I left for Vegas.  (I know, I’m so behind)…

Anyway, on to the pics…

Chuck E. Cheeeeeeesssseeeee…..

She got a wand-tutu-tiara set from her Uncle Gordon.  And a BUNCH of goodies from Mem, Mom, Mom and Dad (in Missouri), and us.  And of course, lots of lovin….

Markita, Lai, and Jessi.

We spent some time outside on Friday (I took the day off).  We went to our little park and hung out.  Tossed around the football…

Tyler always makes this face when he throws the ball.  He’s looking more and more like his daddy.

Jessi “throws like a girl”  hehehe

Markita and her self-portraits.  She’s turned into a lovely young lady.  One who’s mama and whole family can be proud of.  Mem, you are doing a wonderful job with your girls.

Me and my sweet FOUR yo.

It was a memorable weekend. I wish you couldv’e shared it with us.

I spent all weekend with my favorite people….

We went to the gym, got alot of outside play

Went to church.

Went to a shower/birthday party/egg hunt at Chris’ house.

We are so blessed.

How was your weekend?

Lai turned 4 today.  One more year then off to school she goes.  😦

She’s almost fully potty-trained (the most stubborn of all my kids).  She’s in love with handbags, dresses, shoes, and all things pink.  Your typical little girl.  I’m allowing her to exercise her independence by choosing her outfits, and we are getting a kick out of it.  She’s feisty, compassionate, articulate, sassy, generous, loving, and beautiful all rolled into a little body.  I love me some LaiLai.  I wish you all could spend some time with her.  You’d fall in love too.

Happy Birthday, my sweet angel.  Enjoy your fourth year.  I know I will.

Bubs had 2 Bowl games on Saturday.  We won both. YAY!

This kid and his masks!

Saturday night was Lloyda’s birthday party at Maria’s.

I had to work Sunday,  but went to see this last night:

I liked it.

How was your weekend?

We celebrated hubby’s birthday this past weekend.  My lovely, hard-working mister had to work all seven days last week and the week before!  Poor fella.

His day was on Sunday, so on Saturday night (after he left for work), the kids and I made him a sign and each one of the kids drew Daddy a card.

I didn’t get to take pics of the cards, but will post when I do.  They are so awesome!

A blurry family pic.

We spent the rest of the day hanging out at home, watching football while DH slept.

Last night (Monday) I finally got the man a cake…

It was a simple celebration this year.  He just wanted to be home, with us.

Happy Birthday, Danny.  I love you.
