Hello Monday.

Ty’s game was so exciting. Gords, Lloyda, Maria, and Maria’s niece came to the game last Friday.  We WON!  It was a close one. 21-20.  At half time, we were up 14-6, but the last quarter the other team scored off of 2 interceptions.  It was a nail-biter….

Home side.  It was a sad turnout for the other team (part of that crowd was our fans, who didn’t have any place to sit because it was so crowded on our side)

Our side.  AND we had 28 cheerleaders!!!!!

Lloyda!

I wish you were there.  It was a perfect night for football.  70’s with a light breeze.

Earlier that day we took the birthday boy out to eat at this new all-you-can eat Japanese restaurant just a couple of miles from our house.

SUSHI…mmmmm

O and B were there too!

Good times.

Full and happy….

Saturday was Bubba’s game.  They lost to Goodlettsville again.  Not a very happy day for DH and Bubs.  :-(

I didn’t go with the guys to Hendersonville for the game, I attended my first ever Pamper*d Chef party at Chris’ house.  If I had the $, I would so redo my kitchenwares with nothin but this stuff.  It’s so cool!

Sunday we spent cleaning and relaxing.  We got our weekly food shopping done and let the kiddos play outside.  It was a nice day.

I have more to share, check back later!

Love love

Tonight, Ty’s team will be facing off with McGavock (a rival).  We will be on McGavock’s home field.  I’m a little nervous about that.  This school is not somewhere I’d want my kids to go, to say the least.  Let’s just say that the police have made a permanent post there.  m-hm.

Anyway, Lloyda and Maria will be attending and hopefully good ole Britney (we haven’t seen her in a while).  This should be a good game.  It’s also the first official game of the season.

Bubba’s game is tomorrow afternoon in Hendersonville.

Other plans for the weekend:
-A pamper*ed chef party at Chris’
-Sleep
-Family time

Nice.

Have a great weekend!

Hello.

It’s been beautiful here the past couple of days.  So beautiful in fact, that I did not spend any time on the computer.  Yep. I was outside.

Bubba had a game and we stayed and watched 3 more games. Oh, Bubba’s team won 42-0.  Yay! (Madison) My poor baby was so mad because the other team was playing dirty, grabbing his face-mask and tackling him in the back (not allowed)….  I wish people would teach these kids fairness and good sportsmanship.  It’s a valuable lesson for everyone and for all parts of life, not just sports.

Anyway, I started knitting again.

Proof:

And a scarf.

The scarf will be a gift and the socks, well, I don’t know yet :-)

Here are some weekend pics:

Also:
-did some much needed yard work
-watched “17 again”(A) and “I Love You, Man” (B-)
-Ate at a wing’s joint in Providence in Mount Juliet, then let the kids play in the courtyard.
-other usual, boring things (clean, grocery shopping, laundry etc…)

How was your weekend?

It’s almost the weekend.  We only have one football game this weekend.  I’m trying to scheme a plan to get my honey to watch “The Time Travel*r’s Wife” with me….  I have a feeling he’ll comply, because date-night is long overdue.

I’ve been thinking about changing out the curtains at home and was perusing the better homes and garden website.  I found some beautiful images:

So clean and airy. A very summery look.

This looks very unique and colorful:

Scarfs sewn together.

And a no-sew version for someone like me (a non-sew-er):

And a CROCHETED CURTAIN!

Isn’t that pretty?

I also love plain solid-color drapes like these:

I love that this is “outside” and doesn’t distract from the rest of the decor. So beautiful.

Like a lot of my “projects”, this will languish waiting for me to have more time to spend on it.  Sigh.

At any rate, I thought you would like to look at pretty pictures, just like I do.

Happy Hump Day!

-L

I finished the Twilight saga last night and now…..

What do I do?  I picked up a sock that I casted on a few weeks ago and knit a little on the train this morning.  It felt weird to be knitting again.  And not in a good way.  Sheesh.

I’d rather read.

Anyway, I wanted to share a little about this drink I discovered in Las Vegas.  It’s called Boba Tea (aka Bubble Tea).  What is it? Well, Boba is made up of any drink you like, fruit smoothies, tea, fruit drinks. The Boba part is a tapioca-type ball at the bottom of these drinks.  They’re black and are bigger than a pea, but smaller than a marble.

When I visited Chinatown I saw this:

DSCN0887

This sign is what got me curious (plus the fact that it was the only crowded place in Chinatown that day)

DSCN0878

There was so many flavors to choose, but I went with the avocado smoothie.

DSCN0879

Can I just say  YUMMMYYY!!!
OH. EM. GEEEE!  I cannot even describe the deliciousness of this thing.  AND the Boba balls?  A little bite of sweet surprise as you suck your drink through a FAT straw.  I LOVED it!

I was so in love with this drink that I googled for a Boba tea place locally.  I found one called Fat Straw here in downtown Nashville and made a date with Gords to go and try theirs (he’s never had Boba before).

DSCN1041
I ordered the papaya and Gords ordered the avocado.  Eh.  It was disappointing and so not like Vegas.  Here, they use powder and milk to make their fruit drinks. It left a bad aftertaste.  In the Vegas place, they used real fruit in a blender.  I still loved the Boba balls though.  And so did Gords.  I need to find another boba!

Go and find a Boba Tea place and try some, will you?  You’ll thank me…..

Today Nate is officially in school!  It’s a little hard for me this year letting my last baby boy go off to kindergarten to join other 5 yos in a classroom setting.  For one, he has never had to be in a day care.  He was always with family members while I went to work.  This is such a change for him.  Secondly, this just leaves me one more baby at home.  Sigh.

But he did wonderfully!  I’m so proud of him.  He woke up this morning with a smile and was pleasantly excited to get ready.  It was easy.

Today is Nate’s start to a long “career” in school.  The rite of passage for most of us.  I will miss my baby, but I am looking forward to seeing him grow and learn into someone I know I will be proud of.

Here he is with Bubba (who also started school today, the 4th grade!)

Have a great weekend!

It’s almost the weekend again and I am just now uploading pics of last weekend.  I know, I know.

Here you go: (there are alot! Just click to biggie)

We:
-Watched Bubba’s Jamboree game.  It was his first game (we won 7-6).  They played again that evening and won that, too (14-0).
-Steph and I took Sam, AJ, Eric, Nate, and Lai to the Wave Pool.  FUN!
-Toured the Parthenon in Centennial Park.
-Stopped to take pics at the train and feed the ducks in the lake.
-Enjoyed a snow cone.
-Walked Downtown Nashville
-Stopped at Boot Country to try on some cowboy boots. Yeehaw!
-Ate ice cream at a little shop on Broadway (downtown). Yummy!
-Visited Opryland Hotel.  We had dinner there while we watched the water/light show.

It was a great weekend with an awesome family.  It’s our turn to visit next.  St. Louis, see you soon!

Happy Thursday everyone!

This past weekend my best friend Marsha got married.  The wedding was in American Samoa.  I had planned on attending and tried to save my pennies for a trip that would have cost lots and LOTS of pennies.  Suffice it to say, I could not save enough.  I really wanted to be there for her and wanted to celebrate her special day with her, but she understands my situation and as my best friend, she still loves me.

So, here’s to the newlyweds! May you two live a long and happy life together!

Congratulations Darren and Marsh.

I’m here.  I’ve been meaning to blog, but time keeps slipping away from me.  My apologies for not posting.  I really wanted to. Really.

Anyway, we had family over this past weekend.  Epe (Happy), his wife Steph, and 4 kids (Sam, 15, AJ, 10, Eric, 7, and Iose, 2) stayed with us from Friday until yesterday (Monday) afternoon.  We kept them busy with a trip to the Wave Pool, downtown Nashville, Centennial Park, and Opryland Hotel.

They seemed to enjoy our little city and I had fun hanging out with them and playing tour guide.  The kids had a blast together and the guys (DH and Epe)  had stayed up late every night reminiscing and catching up.  Steph and I spent alot of time together, getting to know each other more.  It was a nice visit.

And I am POOPED.

I have a ton of pics to share but I have yet to upload my pics, so I’ll post those asap.

I’m going to attempt a nap.

When I was in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago, Dad and family took me to church on Sunday.  This church is beautiful.

Check out their stained-glass-windows.  It reminds me of anime.  So not traditional Catholic.  I loved it!

It’s so modern and edgy.  And now that I’m really looking at these, a little scary.  But still cool.

It’s the coolest Catholic church I’ve ever seen!

K, I’ll be back later with more.

Work’s been hectic this week.  And so has the home-life.  We are having visitors over this weekend, so I am trying to squeeze in some cleaning.

I haven’t touched my knitting in over 3 weeks.  I KNOW!  Maybe that’s why I’ve been stressing out.  But, I have been reading.  I finished book 2 of the Twilight saga, New Moon, and Kelly lent me book 3 to start.  It’s waiting for me in my bag.  I’m really getting into these books.  Is that wrong?  A little immature, maybe?  Nah.

I have also been busy looking at old photos.  They bring back so many memories.  You wanna see?

Senior Prom.  That’s me wearing white with some of my best friends (from left: Alice, Marsh, and Carly)

Samoan week (senior year). That’s me on the end in the brown.  Check out the bangs!

Me and my brothers at Lion’s Park.

Alice, Nikki, and me.  Baccalaureate 1991.

High school was a blast for me.  For the most part.  I had awesome friends, a strict mom, and good teachers.  And, I lived on an ISLAND! We were surrounded by the ocean and we didn’t have to lock our doors (altho we did).  It was ideal.  Something I wish for my kids.  It was such a small island, in fact, that I have found a lot of my old friends from high school and beyond through online networking sites.  It’s truly amazing.

Oh, the strict mom thing?  It was a blessing.  I hated it at the time. My friends were out galavanting and partying, while I stayed home.  But in retrospect, it was the best for me.  Lord knows the kind of trouble I would’ve gotten into.  I shudder to think.

Anyway, I have a mountain of laundry to tackle and clutters to organize. Please pray for me :)

Have a great night.

My Nacho turns 5 today.  He will also be starting school in the next couple of weeks.  It’s a bittersweet birthday this year.  My baby’s no longer a baby.  He’s now officially school-age.  Time sure does fly…

Born in 2004, in Nashville, TN.  He weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz. and 21 inches long.  He was a beautiful baby.  The doctor that delivered him, Dr. Hamilton, was a clown.  He made jokes as soon as he walked in the delivery room (he was late because of traffic) and put everyone at ease.  Including me.  Nate was born at 10 pm after only 5 hours of labor.  He was the only one who’s water broke without help.  He wanted out.

He is such a cutie and a pudgy-wudgy.  I want to just squeeze him whenever I see him.

He learned to talk early and uses big words frequently, baffling the rest of us as to how this little boy got to be so smart (he gets it from his mama).

He didn’t smile alot as a baby, but the faces he made put a smile on yours.

He loves sweets.  Cereal in milk is this guy’s staple meal. He’ll eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, if I let him.

100_1199
He wasn’t too friendly to strangers.  This scowl is the face you would get when you first meet him.

100_0336
He loves the ladies.  I think I may be in trouble with this guy when it comes to girls :-)

100_0005
He remembers EVERYTHING! So watch yourself around this guy….

100_8085

He is clumsy.  I don’t remember any period longer than a week where he didn’t have a cut, scrape, bruise, or bump on him, especially on his head.

101_9878

He loves his sissy.

100_2975

He LOVES wearing sunglasses!

Mommy loves you SO MUCH!
