I managed a little catnap last night before the Bubba’s bedtime, and it did wonders! I feel rejuvenated today.
For my installment of various selections of crap, I wanted to share some pictures with you today:
Fixation Ankle Socks
Yarn: Cascade Fixation – 1 ball
Pattern: My own top-down pattern on 40 sts. with heel flap ( to fit women’s shoe size 8 )
Needles: Addi Lace US4 40″ circs
Date started: October 28, 2008
Date completed: October 29, 2008
I still had a small ball leftover. I could’ve done another half inch on each sock. Oh well, next time!
I started another pair right after. I know, I have a problem. I have like eleventy projects I need to get started for Christmas. ugh. I can’t help myself.

Yarn’s kinda fugly. But I think the recipient will love it.
Also, here’s an adorable little coin purse I purchased at the flea market in Spartanburg a couple of weekends ago:

It was only a DOLLAR!
I had another item to share with you, but the photo uploader thingy won’t take it.
That’s what I’ve been up to.
How about you?

Very, very sleepy. I need a full day of rest. CTRL-ALT-DEL day. Wipe the slate clean day. Reboot, recharge, refresh, renew day. Oh, I can dream.
I know you must be so tired about my whining about being tired. Yeah, it’s getting to be tiresome. I’ll stop.
I came by today to share a cute little video:
I started another pair of socks last night. I’ve already finished one and I’m on the heel of sock #2. I have so many things to knit right now. If only there were more hours in the day. And less hours for work. But I digress. Knitting is my stress-reliever.
I’ll post tomorrow with some pics. I just wanted to drop a couple lines so I won’t feel guilty about not blogging often.
I hope your week’s better than mine.

This past weekend was awesome. I got so much done.
Pattern: Weaver’s Wool Mini Shawl
Yarn: Lion Brand Wool Ease in 3 colors (pink, grey, and charcoal-not the labels’ names)
Needles: Clover US 10.5 24″ circular
Completed: 6 hours (started 6pm Sunday evening, and BO 12midnight)- a record for me!
The ends have not been sewed in and I have not blocked it. It’s not as big as I’d like, but blocking should get it there.

The outside pics are closest to the true color. The pink is labeled “Azalea Pink”. I think it’s been discontinued by LB because I got it on clearance for 99 cents. It’s been in the stash for months!

This is the best mirror shot I could get.
It’s been cold enough here for this type of knitwear. I was nice and toasty with this shawl around my neck this morning as I waited for the train. My back’s a little sore though from all that knitting last night. I think it was the awkward position I was in. I also got the mountain of dishes done, cleared clutter from the stand in the foyer, kitchen counters, and dining table (it’s been the dump-off place for everything since it is next to the front door). I got a lot done last night.
Kids update:
Bubba lost his game Saturday. It was very disappointing. It was a playoff game and so we will not have any more games this season. Final score: 13-6. After the game, DH, Ty and Bubba went to the Vandy game. Nacho, Lai and I stayed home and relaxed. I’ve been reading this. It’s a very good book and I’m itching to finish it. I have a long list of books in my queue, this is a good start (re-start, since I technically started with Wicked, and no, I haven’t finished that one). The one I am reading now is supposed to be a serious book about a serious topic, but I find myself chuckling a lot. The author is a funny guy.
Anyway,
I took some pics of the kids and am amazed at how fast they are growing. It’s bittersweet.
OH, and Mom, Jim and the little ones came by the office today:

It was a nice surprise. Nacho wanted to stay with me and Lai was not impressed (you can see it in the pics).
Well, that’s all for now. I have more knitting to show, but I’ll save that for another time.
Have a great week!

Speed knitting with the World’s Fastest Knitter:
Isn’t that just crazy? Imagine the projects you could whip out at this speed. She’s in the Guinness Book of World Records for knitting 118 stitches in 1 minute. That’s almost TWO stitches per SECOND! Crazy! Excuse me while I pick up my jaw off the floor.
I said that I was going to go through stuff last night. Remember? For the yard sale? Well, guess what? Yep, it didn’t happen. Little brother decided to not have the sale after all. And I did not want to do all that right now. Instead, he and I went to MJHS Varsity game. Tyler dressed for the game, but did not get to play. We played Clarksville and we won 21-6. It was cold but we had a good time. We got home after 10 and decided against all the work a yard sale requires. Plus, it started to rain. It has been rainning all day today. Sleepy weather. Thank God it’s Friday! I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Bubba has a playoff game tomorrow against Goodlettsville. We have to be at the field at the butt crack of dawn (7:30). ugh. At least we won’t have to be there all day. We should be done by 11. Tonight Ty’s going to Brennan’s house. Brennan’s been a friend of Ty’s since 4th grade through football. They played one year together at Donelson. In fact, Brennan’s was the only house Ty was allowed to spend the night at. They (his mom, Jill, and dad, Danny) are good people. You can just tell. After that year at Donelson, Brennan moved to Mt. Juliet and played youth football for Mt. Juliet while we stayed at Donelson 1 year, then Old Hickory for 2 years. We saw them once in a while at Walmart or various spots in our little town. This year, the boys were reunited in high school. He is one of the boys to whom Ty is close. They tell each other “I love you” and both boys hug each other’s moms whenever they see us. It’s actually very sweet. Anyway, tonight Brennan is having a sleep over for his birthday. Ty and 4 other boys are invited to their home for a night of Xbox, PS, football, and lots of food. He’ll be having a ton of fun…
That’s the plan for the weekend.
Here’s a quote for you:

Huh?
Have a good one!

I almost forgot. This Saturday, little brother will be helping me purge some crap to clear some of the clutter from my house by having a yard/garage sale. Our pile of stuff has grown to gi-huge-ic proportions and I must do something to make my home more manageable. This is just a baby step I think, considering the amount of crap my family of six has accumulated over the years. You have no idea.
I haven’t had the time to really go through everything (because I’ve been knitting, and am lazy). So, tonight I will make the time to do just that. Gordon, God bless him, told me to just make a big pile and leave the rest to him. I don’t think he knows what a huge task that will be, but this isn’t the first time we’ve had a yard sale. We had one this past spring and another last fall. Both were successful, so I am hopeful. It will be cold here on Saturday according to the weather forecast, but I am hoping for some sun.
Recycle – check, thanks to Gordon we have a recycling bin conveniently located next to the kitchen trash can.
Reuse – Check. Shop for clothing at thrift stores (Good*will!)
Reduce – Check. Yard sale this Saturday.
We are going green folks. Green is good.
Now that I think of it, I also have been using those reusable/washable bags when I go shopping. They are also handy for toting snacks, and acting as a diaperbag. I’ve also knitted some market bags a year ago:

If you’re interested in the pattern, drop me a line and I’ll get it to you.

Things to report:
1. Bubba made Honor Roll. He received 3 awards yesterday: Perfect attendance, honor roll, and AAA acheiver. I am so proud, my heart is bursting.
2. Ty brought home his report card and he got 3 B’s and an A. YAY!
3. Ty’s last freshman game was Tuesday against rival team Wilson Central. We won. And by won, I mean, we kicked some Wildcat arse! 47-6. Yeah.
4. My sister is moving out to pursue a career, learn responsibility, and grow up. It’s been a mixture of emotions, but I think it is a good thing. This means that my mom will be helping with the little ones again. My mom is a teacher and their grandma, there’s no one better to impart goodness into my children than her (besides me and DH of course).
Life is good.
Still knitting on shawl #2. Trying to gather motivation to finish the other baby items I have in my knitting bag. I still haven’t found the perfect pattern for the beautiful (and FREE!) Schaefer yarn I have in a ziploc bag in my purse. I’ve been stalking ravelry, nothing jumps out at me. I have some options, though: I can make a clapotis or the luna moth shawl. I’m still on the fence. I’m itching to start another pair of socks and a hat. Crazy.
I’m exhausted today. Lai and Nacho were up late last night, playing in the dark. Fighting sleep. The last time I looked at the clock it was 12:30. I should’ve just knitted. I read some, though. I am reading this. It received rave reviews and it’s been sitting in my reading queue for, um, a year. I know. So far, so good.
You make this face.
-L
Remember when I went to Good*will with my mom and brother a couple of weeks ago? I wanted to show you a pic of the bag I bought for $1.50. It had a BAM (books-a-milli*n) tag on it “Retail: $9.99″ It is a steal and oh-so-cute. It’s my new knitting bag.
The most interesting part of the bag is the material it is made of. I don’t know whether it is paper or some sort of plastic. It’s waterproof and has a paper quality to it. Maybe sail (as in boat) material? I don’t know. I get tons of compliments and when I tell them to feel it, they are even more amazed. I love that it is water-proof and very sturdy. It holds a lot:
3 projects, a notebook, a CD, and a manila folder with pattern printouts.
Here’s a better look at the artwork:

That little man looks kinda sad. Someone tore up some books. Maybe the bag is recycled paper? What are your thoughts?
The colors are more rich in real life. The last picture is the closest as far as color goes (but still not as colorful). Harsh indoor bulbs do this bag no justice. It really is a cool-looking bag.
More to come!
L
I FINALLY finished those baby booties…

Seamed and ends tucked in! I still have to attach the buttons though.
And the matching hat:

So darn adorable!
Specs:
Booties-
Pattern: Saartje’s booties
Yarn: Cascade Cherub Collection D.K.
Needles: US 1 addi’s
Hat-
Pattern: My own
Needles: US 2 addi’s
What a fast and fun knit! These will be a great gift to any newborn.
Oh, and here are the buttons I am considering:
Kinda leaning towards these:
Kinda big, no?
What do you think?
The pics were taken with my camera phone. They will be given to the recepient today so I had to get pics before I forget, like I usually do.
Be back later with more project pics.

Indoors under fluorescent lighting.
There you have it. I wish I could keep these just cuz they are so unbelievably cute, but they will be worn by a brand new baby who will look absolutely adorable in them. -L
We took a spur-of-the-moment trip to South Carolina this past weekend to visit with Uncle Will, Aunty Mem, and the girls. Hubby and I just decided to get out of town since we didn’t have a game on Saturday and no other plans for the weekend. It was a very good trip. We had a great time with the Spartanburgers. Hubby learned how to drive a “crotch-rocket” (motorcycle) and I spent some shopping/thrifting-time with the rest of the gang at the local flea market. It was a much-needed break from Nashville.
Pictures:

Driving through magnificent rolling mountains and trees donning beautiful fall colors.

5 hour drive + me = lots of knitting!

This bus was at one of our stops.

This was taken last year (June 2007).

Arrived in Spartanburg in time for some dinner.

Jessi, Ty, and Markita like old times.

Bubba got to go for a ride with Auntie Mem on her crotch-rocket.

Bubba was all smiles after his ride.

Nate wanted to be like Bubba and wear a cool helmet.

DH enjoyed his motorbike lessons with Uncle Will.

Marky and Ty taking pics of each other taking pics of each other. (what?)

Aunty Mem buying a cute bag from a nice older gentleman (see him?)

Found this little toy (have you seen this?)

Check out what the back says, #2. Cracked me up, I had to have it.
Thank you Uncle and Aunty for everything. Thank you Marky and Jessi for “partnering up” with my kids and watching them/ playing with them and being awesome cousins. We’re hoping to spend more time with you all. See you soon!
Last Friday, Gordon and I finally made it out to Warner Park to take pics. I would show you pics of that, but it’s for a project coming up… But here’s one of the models we worked with:
Meet Rocket:

Isn’t he adorable? He was super-friendly too.
It was a beautiful day for a photo shoot. 60’s and sunny. It was my brother’s first time in Warner Park, so it was a great afternoon for exploring and ooohing and aaahing with a fellow nature-appreciator. hee.
We got home late last night. My poor DH got to nap for an hour before heading to work. This morning was another drama, but I’ll share that with you another day (maybe)….
Happy Monday!
L
It’s sunny today after a dreary Thursday. It’s looking like a beautiful start to a wonderful weekend. How’s that for positive? Like that huh? I can keep going. But I won’t.
Here’s your quote:

I’ll be knitting and relaxing this weekend. I’ll see you Monday!
L
Refreshed.
I think I have mentioned to you before how talented my little brother is, right? Well, I cannot stress enough how gifted this guy is. And I’m not saying that because he is my brother, because honestly, you can be assured that I speak the truth to him and about him (and anyone else). He’s smart, he’s funny, he’s a gifted writer, and darn good pianist. Anyone who’s met him has held on to a lasting impression of my brother. People remember him. He’s got this magnetic personality that you can’t help but adore. Really.
Anyway, DH and I went to Gordon’s show last night at Cafe Coco and had a great time. Gordon and David (drums) were so good together. He did a cover for Prince’s “When Doves Cry”. Splendid. DH had to leave for work, so he left promptly after Gordon’s set. Gordon and I decided to stay and listen to the group up next. They were 2 brothers from San Diego: The Smart Brothers. Very original and extraordinary. I googled them today and found a handful of videos of them on youtube. Check it out. On the videos there are 3 guys, the white guy is Mickey, he wasn’t there last night. We chatted with them for a little bit after their set and discovered that they are Filipinos! Jay and Lou have a Filipino mom and a Caucasian dad. Along with having great genes, they are also very humble and really nice guys. They even gave us a CD free (my brother ended up giving them his last 5 dollars because we felt bad). If you are near a place where they will be performing, go check them out. Their schedule is posted on their page (link above).
Gordon and I didn’t get home til almost midnight. I was so pooped that this morning, I had to take the last train because I didn’t get up on time for my usual train at 7:07am. Funny, because when I arrived for the 7:50 train, Annie, Chris, and one other gal (I forget her name) were there. They are usually on the 7:07 train too. It was just one of those mornings….
I’m planning to be at Warner Parks today with Gordon to take some pictures. Warner Parks has some beautiful landscapes perfect for photo shoots. Plus there are horses there. We will be having the horses model for us in exchange for some carrots. It’ll be fun. I am hoping though, that it does not rain. It drizzled a little this morning as I was leaving the house and off and on throughout the morning. I have not seen the sun, so it might be a bust on our photo shoot. We still have another hour or so to decide. I’ll let you know.
Also, I was piddling around the ‘nets, and visited one of my favorites, Anthropologie. They always have the best clothes, albeit too expensive for me, and fabulous photos. I found this:
OMG. The things I can make with that yarn. Silly me, I was awe-struck at these HUGE balls of yarn, which I am sure were just big styrofoam balls with a couple layers of yarn over them, but still. I was all delighted and giddy with joy over this picture. Her outfit’s pretty fly too. I would so rock that….
Here are some of the other outfits I love and more big balls of yarn:
Jacket: $298
Top: $118
Skirt: $78
(Yikes)
Boots: $318 (!) I know, right?
They must be made by NASA out of moon rocks or something. Just sayin.
Beautiful, though. I get inspiration from their knit wear and combinations.
Well, I must hele on. I’ve got other blogs to visit and other things to knit….
Later
L
*Update: Photo shoot will be rescheduled for tomorrow.
I have too much on my plate right now.
Too many projects on the needles, too many commitments, too many issues at work, too many things. It’s been a bad day. It’s hard to be positive right now. I won’t bore you, but I haven’t felt like blogging much because of these things.
I did, although, find the camera my dad gave me after searching EVERYWHERE for the past week. You know that thing that happens to batteries in electronics after months of not being used? Yes, they explode. And the other day out of the clear blue, I thought to myself “I better get the batteries out of that camera Dad gave me back in July before they pop.” No real reason, it just came to me. Anyway, that night I started the search. That was 8 days ago (last Tuesday). In fact, I stayed up til 2 am this past Monday looking for that thing worrying about that darn battery acid ruining the camera. I looked in ALL my bags, in the shelves, junk drawers, under the bed, couch, everywhere. It was so frustrating. Even after I made myself go to bed, I was laying there thinking of other places I can look. I finally found it last night in a bag I already searched, no less. What a relief! It’s a nice camera, too. It’s a Nikon Coolpix L1. It’s not one of the newer models (it was released 3 years ago) but it has a good review. I am not complaining. I think it is great camera. Just like my trusty beat-up Kodak Easyshare 740 . I will be playing with my new toy tomorrow. Gordon will be picking me up from work early to have a photo shoot at Warner Park. We’ll even be taking some pics with the horses. It’s all very exciting…
My knitting projects?
1. Baby hat to match baby legwarmers I knitted up this past weekend.
2. Finish the baby booties and hat for one of the ladies in the quilting class.
3. Shawl. I would elaborate but it’s sort of hush-hush.

4. Monkey socks (yes, I still have those on the needles!)
5. Clapotis (yes, those too)
6. Baby blanket (the one that was supposed to be for my boss)
7. Magic stripe socks (a UFO since July)
I really have to get motivated and finish these. (Pics taken with the Nikon)
I was on Ravelry earlier tempting myself with all the wonderful projects! I want to make a hat, another shawl, socks, scarves, cowls…… I can go on and on. There’s just not enough time in the day. sigh
Kids:
Football season’s winding down. Bubba has a by this week and then playoffs next week. If they win we have 2 more after that. Tyler has a by this week too. The team they were scheduled to play cancelled. Guess where I will be going???? KNIT-NIGHT! Yay! After this week, Ty has one more Freshman game and 3 more games with Varsity. And then, we’ll be free. I am so ready.
Babies:
Nate and Lai are so cute. Lai is talking a lot more and loves calling people “Honey”. It’s so funny. I called her last night to make sure she was ok (I was in the living room and she was in the kitchen). She comes out of the kitchen and says, “Yes, honey?”. Adorable. Nacho is ready for school. He gets up early and goes to bed at the same time every night. He’s been very good with pottying and hasn’t had an accident since we took him off the pull-ups. He told me once that he was “the potty-trainer”. Made my day.
Tonight, my brother is performing at Cafe CoCo. Dh and I will try to go. I think it’ll be a nice mid-week date.
Well, folks, that all she wrote. Rant over.
I feel better.
L
Here’s to you…
A wonderful son, brother, cousin, friend, husband.
You’re strong,
yet gentle.
And so fun to be around.
You’re adorable,

and a real man.

I thank God for you everyday. You make my life wonderfully sweet and I look forward to growing old with you.

Here’s to many more years.
Here’s to my favorite guy in the whole entire earth.
Here’s to you. Happy birthday my beautiful sweetie, my husband.

It’s actually tomorrow, but we will be having too much fun to get to a computer.
Here’s a quote:

Have a great weekend!
Today is cold and rainy. I woke up at my usual time and it was darker than usual and I could hear the pitter patter of rain on my windows. I contemplated calling in sick and laying in bed all day. I could’ve and should’ve, but I went to work. I think it was a good choice. It’s been pretty slow today, so I can’t complain.
Speaking of complaining, I was thinking about things today and I thought about what people really thought of me. When I die, what would people say? Will it be mostly good things? Will they be sad? I know my family would be, but everyone else in my life, would they miss me? I know it is pretty morbid to think of such things, but really, it got me thinking about how I am with people. Am I a negative pest? Do I annoy the crap out of people I interact with everyday? I don’t think I do. At least, not on purpose. Then I got to thinking: the things that come out of our mouths starts with a thought in our heads. If there is negativity in your thoughts, it will come out of you in words and actions. I try to be a positive person as much as possible, but my DH, as I recall, has pointed out to me more than I’d like to admit that I complain and am negative. Really? How can I work on that? There’s the old saying “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” That’s a start. Or better yet, start thinking of the good things no matter how little and be grateful. Instead of “Oh crap, it’s raining, my hair’s gonna frizz up!” think “Thank God it’s raining, we sure need it.” Yeah. Not so easy. I’ve been thinking my way for years. How do you change that? Baby steps, sweetie, baby steps.
Also, smile more. It really does help. And it is contagious. Unless of course you are a scrooge. Baby steps.
A smile for you:
See? Contagious.
Here’s to a new positive me you us!
L
Whew! This weekend was tiring. Football’s in the air. Nashville’s a great place to be right now. Vandy beat Auburn this past Saturday (they haven’t been able to since 1978) and they stand undefeated so far this season. The Titans are also on a roll pulling out a win against Baltimore yesterday. Their record is 5-0 (I think). OMG. I am blogging about football. Whodathunkit? Anyway, I say that to say this: my kids had a fabulous football weekend as well. Ty played Thursday against Hendersonville (see previous post) and Friday he played for Varsity against Rossview. We won 52-14. It was also homecoming. Bubba played Spring Hill on Saturday and won 39-0.

And it was a beautiful weekend, 80’s with a breeze and oh-so-sunny. I was so glad to be away from work and outside for a change.
I also told you that I was going to go thrifting at Good*will with Mom and Gordo. We woke up at the butt-crack of dawn to enjoy some scrambled egg eggplant that my mom would often make growing up. Yummy! I haven’t had that dish for ages it seems. Gordo and I were happy campers. We drove to Rivergate in Mom’s truck and stayed for an hour and a half going through all the goodies Good*will had out. And it was a lot. A LOT! I walked out with 12 knit sweaters and cardigans, 5 pairs of pants for work, 4 dress shirts for Ty, 4 long sleeve shirts and a blazer for Nacho, 2 dressy shirts for Bubba, and 2 pretty little sweaters for Lai. Oh, and a new book bag with tags still attached and a red purse by Liz Claiborne. All that for under $75! I was beaming. Now I don’t have to go out and buy new clothes for the new season and spend hundreds, because, frankly I do not have hundreds to spend on clothing. Because I am all about the thrifting, ya’ll. Reduce, recycle, reuse people! Give new life to old things (even tho’ some of these things still have the retail tags attached). I have done my part. Now, to purge. I will be having a garage sale in the next few weeks. Trash in, trash out. I’ll keep you posted on that….
Sunday we went to church. We got up too late for the 10 o’clock service so we went to the less crowded 11:45 service. The kids were so good. They gave us no problems as we took them to their classes. It was really cool.

After service, we took a scenic drive to Murfreesboro to enjoy our favorite Chinese buffet: Chef Wang’s. Gosh, that place is the bomb! We stuffed ourselves good and plenty then went to a park nearby to play before the long drive home. Sundays are my favorite. I think we need one more day just to recoop. Ya know?
Here’s to an awesome week!
L
Hubby came for lunch today and we went to our favorite sushi place: RuSans. We ate too much, people-watched, chatted, shared wasabi dipping sauce, and just enjoyed each other’s company. This Friday lunch with the hubby has been the routine now for almost 2 months and it is wonderful. We drive home together every Friday and this evening we will stop for ice cream (me) and a shake (him). Yummy. A great start for the weekends.
Anypoo, there’s really not much else around here. This morning while I waited for the train it was pretty chilly, 44 degrees according to the thermometer in the car. I sported a scarf and a knit beret, both made by moi. They kept me nice and warm. mmm.
Tyler’s team won last night against Hendersonville. 46-14. MJHS Freshman team almost went undefeated last year. The only team that beat them was Hendersonville. Needless to say this game was widely anticipated.
Tonight is homecoming. Varsity will be playing at home against Rossview. We will be going tonight minus Lai and Nate, who will be keeping Mom company for a couple of hours. It will probably be really cold tonight. Right now, it is a sunny and breezy 70 outside. It’s a shame to waste a day like this indoors…
Tomorrow I resume my monthly visit to Goodwill with Mom and little brother. I’m excited for that. Lloyda will be performing at the Celebration of Cultures in Centennial Park. Meghan, Sulu, Shana, Lia, Maria, and Joleen will be joining her in the 5 siva’s they are dancing. I wish I could go, but Bubba has a game tomorrow in Spring Hill and we have to be at the football field at 1:00 (they perform at 12:20). Oh, well, there’s next year…
What else, what else.
I frogged the shawl. I decided that the needles were not working. Then I realized the needles I am using for the legwarmers are Addi Lace needles in the exact size I need, so I am feverishly trying to finish those. I am 2 rows away from bind-off. Yippeeee! And, no, no pictures. I’ve been really slacking on the picture-taking. I haven’t taken a picture in over a week. I know, shame on me. I’ll work on that…

Have a great weekend!
L
Where did September go?
Dude.
There’s only like 80 days until Christmas. And, no, I haven’t done any Christmas knitting or buying. Just like last year. I tell myself every Christmas for the last 4 years that I must knit Christmas gifts for everyone next year. Then next thing you know, the next Christmas comes and I say the same thing when that Christmas passes. Ugh. I have all intentions to start knitting in January and then, boom, it’s October. What the H-E-double hockey sticks? Ok, it’s my fault. I tend to start stuff and then lose interest and start something else. I have UFO’s (unfinished objects) crammed in every bag and shelf and basket in my house. Oh, for shame. I can’t help myself. I have a sickness. In fact last night, instead of finishing the team colors scarf I have sitting on the coffee table, or finishing the baby booties I have been commissioned to knit, or finishing the legwarmers, (and the list goes on) I start on a new project. A lace shawl. LACE, mmmm. My first real attempt at lace. Hey, it’s a Christmas present. So there.
Updates:
The kids are all healthy. The weather’s finally gotten cooler. 40’s at night and 70’s in the daytime. The train ride to and from work has been utterly fabulous. Hubby and I have a free night tonight, so we’ll be hanging out on the deck catching up in person.
Oh, and Lai absolutely LOVES going to Grandma’s. She jumps up and down and yells “YAY!” If I ask her if she wants to go over there. And when I go to pick her up, she cries and says “No”. Almost makes me feel bad. I guess she gets whatever she wants over there. Any show she wants, anytime. No boys bothering her. And all the cuddling she can stand. She has to share me with her brother in the evenings, so cuddle time involves only one arm from Mommy (Nate gets the other). At Grandma’s, she gets both Grandma and Grandpa all to herself. I can see why she wants to stay there.

Taken 2 years ago. What a difference two years makes!
I’ll be with this hunk on the back porch enjoying the sunset and maybe a glass of wine.
October’s looking to be a great month!
